How often should I have an EICR?

For owner-occupied homes, an EICR is recommended at least every 10 years, and whenever you buy a property. Rented homes need one at least every 5 years.

How long does an EICR take?

An average three-bedroom house usually takes around three to four hours.

Will the power be off?

Yes, for parts of the inspection. We’ll keep disruption to a minimum and let you know beforehand.

What do the codes on the report mean?

C1 means danger present, C2 means potentially dangerous, C3 means improvement recommended and FI means further investigation is needed. We’ll explain anything on your report in plain English.

Can you fix anything the report finds?

Yes. We can quote for any remedial work and put it right.
