How often do I need an EICR?
Landlords in England need one at least every five years. Homeowners are usually advised every ten years, or when buying a property. Businesses vary by type of premises.
How long does an inspection take?
An EICR on an average three-bedroom house generally takes around 3–4 hours, depending on the size, age and condition of the installation. Larger properties, or installations with more circuits, take longer.
Will the power be off?
Yes, for parts of the inspection. We’ll keep disruption to a minimum and let you know beforehand.
What happens if my report is unsatisfactory?
We’ll explain what was found and give you a quote for the remedial work. Once it’s done, we can re-test and confirm.
Can I spread the cost of remedial work?
Finance options are available on many electrical works through our partner Ideal4Finance. Find out more here.
